What is your name and what city do you rep?

“My name is Lil TD Baby. People call me TD. I rep New Brunswick, New Jersey. The Ville.”

Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them?

“One of them, “Real Nasty” for the ladies. Not a lot of niggas making love songs for the ladies so I did that. I fuck with that song. Latest song “Mama” for my mom. Made a video for it too. Had to make a song for her. This who I’m doing it for. Vibe is different. Whoever lost a loved one should listen to that song.”

What is unique about you and your music?

“I can sing and rap. Nice tone with it. I also play the drums. My music is just dope, a new sound that people not ready for. I got an ear for music.”

What shaped your music?

“My father, my uncle. Going back in history. Listening to a lot of artists, then delivering it in my own style. Just trying to follow the legacy. My great grandfather use to do music too.”

When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?

“When everybody use to hear me sing in the streets. They all said I was going to make it. People saying I remind them of my uncle, but in my own style not really singing. They just kept saying I remind them of my uncle. When I dropped my first song on Soundcloud, “Gotta Get It,” my hood really fucked wit that song.”

What type of music do you listen to?

“A little bit of everything. Rap music. I really just bump myself.”

What inspires you to write music?

“My life, it’s real thuggish, real street. My hood, New Brunswick. Also when my mom passed in 2016. I seen a outlet. We been through a lot together. So everything that we went through it’s just coming out of me now. Fucked up life and good life at same time. Been through a lot, seen wild shit, learned a lot too.

What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?

“Taking care of my kids. Smoking this loud everyday. Getting money, hustling, working.”

Happiness to you is…

“Getting my family out of the hood. My dad, daughters, baby mom. Brothers, sisters.”

What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help artists just starting out?

“Find you your team. People that support you heavy and believe in you. Believe in yourself. Invest in yourself. Get your own studio so you could learn it and have it the way you like. Nobody could fuck with ya shit. Don’t wanna wait months to make a song. This music ain’t the way they say it is. It’s a business. Takes time, effort and money. Trust the process.”

Tell us about your upcoming projects…

“About to be crazy. Can’t wait. New wave. Whole storm, tornado. On god. I got a lot of shit on the way. A lot of people gone catch on. They gone be like I wanna fuck wit him. I been fucking wit sum people on the low too.”

Where do we find you music / music projects?

“All platforms. Everywhere.”

Any last words for the readers?

“I’m a young nigga finna shake the fucking building, #liltdbaby.”
