James Malone a San Diego, California creative has created a platform for African American contemporary artists to gain more exposure while positively perfecting their craft. Growing up in a household rooted in black pride, Malone learned at an early age the importance of African American culture and history, as well as the importance of self-confidence as a black man. His upbringing led him to realize the misrepresentation of the African Diaspora in the contemporary art world.

As a result, Malone founded his own art collective called TunnelVision, in which he positively showcases and represent some of New York and California’s finest creatives. These artists include Dexter R. Jones, Sophia Dawson, Geminelle Rollins, Berchelle Egerton and Austin Trapp. From grassroots initiatives and events such as Fire Ass Thursdays, art showcases, and digital marketing efforts, Malone works diligently to provide these creatives with the maximum exposure they deserve. through his daily work, he encourages anyone who believes in making dreams come true to support his vision and aspirations.

Malone’s mission is to liberate marginalized groups through the development of an infrastructure that supports black contemporary artists and represents their truth, freedom, and fearlessness while nurturing their craft.  He believes that the emergence of the infinitely dimensional and fluid art of the African Diaspora has the power to shift the mind waves and vibrations of thought and creativity change the perspectives of those who do not see the importance of black contemporary art.

Recently Malone and the TunnelVision crew tackled SXSW giving Austin, Texas a taste of what they have to offer. To keep up with all things James Malone follow him on Instagram @Jdmalone33 and to stay up to date with TunnelVision follow their Instagram page @tunnelvisionartists .
